A SPRING CONCERT, “A Celebration of America,” featuring the concert band, college choir and Lenawee Community Chorus will be held Sunday, April 6 at 3 p.m. at the Dawson Auditorium, Adrian College. Admission will be charged at the door.
THE FINAL PERFORMANCE of the faculty recital series featuring percussion instructor, Scott Kretzer, will be held Monday, March 31 at 8 p.m. at the Dawson Auditorium, Adrian College. The concert is free and open to the public.
THE MACON UNITED Methodist Church will hold a spaghetti dinner and bake sale on Saturday, March 29 from 4:30 kto 6:30 p.m. at 11964 Macon Hwy., Village of Macon. All proceeds will benefit the Education Department for Sunday School, Adventure Club, and Vacation Bible School. Tickets will be available at the door.
DRAMATIC CHRISTIAN Ministries will present “Acts One and Two” with Dennis Cole on March 28 at 7 p.m. at the Macon United Methodist Church, 11964 Macon Hwy., Village of Macon. Acts One and Two includes many various characterizaions by Cole.

THE NATIONAL ALLIANCE of Mental Illness (NAMI) of Lenawee have open group meetings the first Thursday of every month from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The meetings are open to anyone impacted by mental illness and will meet in the River Raisin Room, Human Services Building, 1040 S. Winter St., Adrian.

The Adrian Social Security office is sponsoring a pre-retirement seminar for Lenawee County residents. The seminar will be held Tuesday, March 25 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Lenawee Vo-Tech Center. Reservations are not necessay and there is no cost to attend.
The seminar will provide a detail overview of Medicare, disability, survivor benefits and benefits to the family.
THE BEARS LAIR Playground and Wellness committee is sponsoring the fourth annual Sal’s Spaghetti Dinner/Silent Auction/THS Jazz Band Night on March 20 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Patterson Elementary School gym, 401 N.VanBuren.
Tickets are available for two seatings, the first at 5 p.m. and the second at 6 p.m. Kids five and under eat free. Tickets are $6 in advance and $7 at the door.
The Tecumseh High School Jazz Band will be playing and a silent auction will be held.
Richard Warren Bailey, 72, registered pharmacist and District 6 County Commissioner, died March 8, 2008, at home after a courageous two and one half year battle with cancer. He was born October 27, 1935, in Adrian to Myron (Bill) and S. Anne (Knight) Bailey. He married Beverly Ost Nov. 27, 1957.
Cornell J. Etoll, Jr., 52. of Sand Creek, passed away peacefully March 15, 2008, at home. Cornell was born March 13, 1956, in Bryan, Ohio the son of Cornell and Ruth (Collins) Etoll, Sr.
He was a 1974 Stryker High School graduate. After graduation, he attended trade school where he earned his degree as a machinist. Until his illness, he worked many years for Rima Manufacturing.
Sharon Elaine Halvin, 65, of Palm Harbor, FL passed away March 9, 2008. She was born April 23, 1942, in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of Randall and Mary Leanna French.
Sharon was a member of the Eastern Star Ypsilanti Chapter #119. She was a member of the Tecumseh United Methodist Church. Sharon retired from Tecumseh Public Schools. She then graduated from Washtenaw Community College, Magna Cum Laude.
George Bancroft, 80, of Port Orange, Fla., formerly of Clinton, passed away March 16, 2008. George was born May 20, 1927, in Tipton, Michigan, the son of Leo and Nellie (Tripp) Bancroft. On January 24, 1953, he married Nadine Pratt in Angola, Indiana and she survives.
George served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean conflict. He retired from the Tecumseh Products after 42 years of service.
Gatha Aleta Camron, 87, of W. Beecher Rd., Clayton, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at her home surrounded by her family. Gatha was born July 23, 1920, in Edgewood, IL, to Pearly H. and Lucinda J. (Murphy) Wright, and attended school in Urbana, IL. On July 3, 1945, she married Harold W. Camron in the Free Methodist Church in Urbana, IL.
Joseph Valdez, 86, of Adrian, died Sunday, March 16, 2008, at his home. He was born October 10, 1921, in Lincoln, Nebraska to Mike and Anna (Redstock) Valdez.
Ben Neal, Jr., 77, of Adrian, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 15, 2008, at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born April 25, 1930, in Tennessee to Ben and Florence (Walker) Neal, Sr. On December 31, 1949, he married Delarce Moore in Flintville, Tennessee.
Clyde Lavern Runyan, 73, of Adrian, went to be with his Saviour, Sunday, March 16, 2008, at Toledo Hospital, surrounded by his wife and children who adored him. He was born December 22, 1934, in Jackson, MI, to Reid and Ellen (Harris) Runyan. Clyde was a 1953 Graduate of Hanover Horton School.
Patricia Lynn Raymer, 60, of Clayton, died Friday, March 14, 2008, at her home. She was born June 18, 1947, in Detroit, to Edward and Bette Anne (Sadler) Hinrichs. On June 11, 1966, she married Walter Russell Raymer and he survives.
Patty loved to go shopping, spending time with her grandchildren, and especially enjoyed giving gifts to them.
