Muk’s Sports Pub at 107 S. Evans St. will mark 45 years in business on Saturday, Dec. 14 with a celebration that will include food and drink specials all day starting when they open at 10 a.m., cake, and the pub’s annual Ugly Sweater Party and contest that evening.

The Tecumseh Service Club is celebrating its 90th year of service this year with a campaign to make community members more aware of the club’s efforts. In addition, the club has set a goal of receiving 90 donations in nine weeks, which kicked off at Tecumseh’s Farmers Market on Saturday, Sept.

Marda Gene Duncan would have marked her 93rd birthday this year. The long-time Herald columnist died 25 years ago this week, after nearly 40 years of reporting on the birds and other wildlife she observed through her bedroom window.

Perched on the edge of Tipton Highway, just north of M-50, is the Tipton Community Congregational Church. Its bell tower and entrance are testimony to the age of the structure, which dates to 1860.

When Elizabeth Wilson passed away in March 2001, her friend and neighbor, Theresa Powers, took on the responsibility of managing the Elizabeth Ruthruff Wilson Foundation that Wilson set up in 1997 at the age of 92.

At 6 a.m. on September 24, 2020, the doors of the new ProMedica Charles and Virginia Hickman Hospital opened on North Adrian Highway as both Herrick Hospital in Tecumseh and Bixby Hospital in Adrian closed their emergency rooms and ceased to operate.

This year is the 60th anniversary of Sunderland Insurance, a fixture in downtown Tecumseh. Mike and Colleen Sunderland continued the work started by Mike’s parents, Don and Mary Lou, which, beyond insurance, focuses on community support and participation.
