When First Presbyterian Church of Tecumseh was certified earlier this year as an Earth Care Congregation through February 2023 by Presbyterian Church U.S.A.’s Presbyterian Hunger Program, it marked the church’s seventh consecutive year of certification.

Perched on the edge of Tipton Highway, just north of M-50, is the Tipton Community Congregational Church. Its bell tower and entrance are testimony to the age of the structure, which dates to 1860.

Seven years ago a few people from the congregation of the Tipton Community Congregational Church had an idea to start a weekly dinner to feed the hungry in their community.

A fire that destroyed the church at the Holy Ascension Romanian Orthodox Monastery on August 12, 2016 caused a total loss of the monastery’s church building, but the monastery, located on a 39-acre property at 15143 Sheridan Rd.

From June 16-18, the First Presbyterian Church of Tecumseh partnered with Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and the First Presbyterian Church of Adrian to lend a hand of service to those in the community.
