“Heroic” is not the word Deputy Bill Warner would use to describe himself or his actions on September 8, but Lenawee Sheriff Troy Bevier and Warner’s fellow officers would respectfully disagree.

Project Phoenix may rise again.
Although the Lenawee County administration announced it was putting Project Phoenix on the shelf last week at its June 8 meeting, officials have not given up hope.

The new state of the art, 32,000 square-foot YMCA on North Adrian Highway is set to open at 5:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 5, after years of planning and months of construction just north of the newly-opened ProMedica Charles and Virginia Hickman Hospital.

The August 4 primary election for Lenawee county has Sheriff Troy Bevier and Michael Breznick facing off to be the Republican candidate for Lenawee County Sheriff. With no Democrat challenger, the winner from the primary will be the only candidate on the November ballot.
