Each year the Tecumseh Area Chamber of Commerce chooses one person from nominations for the Musgrove Evans Award, an honor named after Tecumseh’s founder that recognizes someone who has exemplified love for and service to Tecumseh. This year Tecumseh Mayor Jack Baker is that person.

It took some crafty maneuvering to keep the secret, but the recipient of this year’s Realtor of the Year award chosen by the Lenawee County Association of Realtors (LCAR) was surprised with the honor at the annual general membership meeting Friday, April 26 at the Adrian District Library.

Returning home to Tecumseh was a fortuitous move for Paula Holtz, who has spent the past 16 years working for the City of Tecumseh as its economic development director and was recently chosen as the recipient of the 2017 Musgrove Evans Award.

Kris Deatrick Verrier flatlined eight times on November 21, 2016, but now she feels better than she has in years. She says owes it all to Troy Vance, as well as a whole bunch of people who were in the right place at the right time, and an army who prayed relentlessly for her recovery.

The Tecumseh Area Chamber breakfast on March 15 was the occasion of the announcement of Megan Porter as the 2017 recipient of the Lenawee Cares Incito Award, given annually since 2011 to a young person under the age of 40 with a commitment to volunteerism, philanthropy and leadership.
