Ceremony Friday for Oak Openings

The long-awaited opening of Oak Openings, the Clinton Arts Center’s (CAC) new home at 115 W. Michigan Ave. in downtown Clinton, will be celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house that will include village officials, artists staff and the public on Friday, June 1 from 4-9 p.m.

Tecumseh Schools lose 39 students, an equivalent of $306,579 in state funding

The Tecumseh Board of Education learned how the long winter and loss of 39 students may affect this year’s budget and was presented the preliminary financial plan for fiscal year 2018-19 during the study session Monday, May 14 before the regular board meeting.

Tecumseh schools remove dedications plaques from four elementary schools

Dedication plaques at Herrick Park, Patterson, Sutton and Tecumseh Acres elementary schools were removed by Tecumseh Public Schools as part of a reorganization plan in 2017. The Herald learned this week that the plaques had been taken down.

In February, a round of interviews led to an offer to a candidate who later turned it down, according to City Manager Dan Swallow.

Food drive receives a special donation

The cold and wet weather last Saturday wasn’t enough to stop mail carriers at the Tecumseh Post Office from collecting donated food during the Annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, with one donation that held additional significance.
