The Tecumseh Police Department is mourning the loss of a 23-year veteran of the force after Sergeant Darrin Lee Briggs, 45, of Jerome, passed away Monday, Dec. 14 during a tree-cutting accident at his home.

As word spread of the tragic accident that claimed the life of Tecumseh High School teacher and coach Allen John (AJ) Marry on Sunday, sadness, shock and disbelief spread throughout the community, county and state. Several churches announced the news and offered prayers during services.

RAISIN TOWNSHIP — A single vehicle accident took the life of a 24-year-old Adrian woman on Tuesday morning who was driving southbound on Raisin Center Highway when she lost control of her Mercury Mountaineer, crossed the center line and struck a tree.

ANN ARBOR — The family of Dakota Gonzales and Erin Lara filed lawsuits in Washtenaw County Trial Court on November 18 against Travis Cunningham, 20, and his parents for the 2014 accident that killed Gonzales, 18, and Curt Orlowski, 18, and injured Lara, according to MLive.

A lawsuit filed in Washtenaw County Trial Court October 6 by the parents of Curt Orlowski, who was killed in a drunken-driving crash last year, claims the parents of Travis Cunningham, Daniel and Elizabeth, furnished the alcohol that led to the crash, according to court records.
