Council approves city employee health insurance

Tecumseh City Council approved the 2016 employee health insurance cost sharing plan with the Police Officers Labor Council and the Operating Engineer Unions Monday. The plan also applies to all non-union city employees eligible to receive health insurance.

Twenty-three percent of Tecumseh registered voters headed to the ballot box Tuesday, voting down a proposed backyard chicken ordinance 826 to 625.

Contract with new manager approved 6-1

In a 6-1 vote Monday, Tecumseh City Council approved the contract for new city manager Daniel Swallow, who is currently serving as City of Monroe’s economic development and community director. Councilmember Ron Wimple was the dissenting vote.
