A lemonade stand initiated by five-year-old Lincoln Ing and organized by Lincoln’s mom, Nicole to help pay for a service dog for his friend, Jackson Metevia, raised over $4,000 on Saturday, Jan. 21 during Tecumseh’s Ice Sculpture Festival.

The definition of friendship will be illustrated during Tecumseh’s Ice Sculpture Festival Saturday, when five-year-old Lincoln Ing will operate a lemonade stand inside Paper Street Soap to raise money to enable his best friend, Jackson Metevia, to receive a service dog.

Rescuing animals is a habit that Jessica Stretch’s family can’t break, and their pets hit the jackpot when it comes to tender loving care. Jessica, the Tecumseh Farmers Market manager and a realtor with Howard Hanna, said that either by chance or fate, sick or injured animals find the family.

When a Monroe County woman became homeless, she wondered what would happen to her best friend. When the weather was getting colder last fall, the woman refused to enter the homeless shelters because she was afraid to lose her dog, a small Pomeranian named Lady Bug.
