City receives federal grant to help support and promote Market on Evans

The City of Tecumseh has received a federal grant from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to the tune of $71,641.49, to spend over the next three years in supporting and promoting the Market on Evans farmers market.

Tecumseh’s Farmers Market, located at the Market on Evans, 213 N. Evans St., will open for the season this Saturday, May 20, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. The market location is 1 1/2 blocks north of Chicago Boulevard in downtown Tecumseh and will continue through October 14 each Saturday.

TECUMSEH — Improvements to Tecumseh’s new farmers market location on North Evans Street will begin this summer with the support of a $20,000 fundraising campaign held since May 2 through Patronicity.com.
