A local woodworking shop is in the middle of a dispute that has left the owners unsure of the future of their business. Walt and Veronica Harvey, owners of Tecumseh Wood Works, say their attempt to move their shop from North Evans Street in Tecumseh Township to a building at 810 S. Maumee St.

In June 2010 Michael Wigge left Berlin, Germany on a quest to travel for free to Antarctica, spending 150 days on a journey through 11 countries. He met his goal in November of that year after more than 100 people helped him along the way, providing transportation, food, and places to sleep.

Tecumseh Superintendent Dr. Kelly Coffin and newly installed members of the Tecumseh Board of Education have agreed to part ways. The agreement was finalized when the full board met on Wednesday in the annex of the district’s Administrative Services Building in front of a large audience.

Renovation and annual maintenance costs, as well as potential costs in staffing, led Tecumseh City Council on Monday to accept a bid from Slusarski Excavating and Paving to demolish the 50-year-old limestone bathhouse at Tecumseh Park, otherwise known as the “Pit.”
