ADRIAN — When the Black and Blue Trophy is at stake, Tecumseh triumphs.

The Indians beat Adrian 27-12 on Friday on the road, avoiding losing possession of the 5-year-old rivalry trophy for the first time and extending their winning streak over the Maples to nine.

The Indians (1-2) spoke optimistically after falling 55-28 against Pinckney in their Southeastern Conference opener, which was highly-contested until it got away from Tecumseh in the final minute of the third quarter.

Do-everything Aden Schmidt concurrently contributing on two Tecumseh teams

Senior Aden Schmidt is the No. 1 singles player for Tecumseh’s boys tennis team this fall, plays an important role on the football team, maintains a 4.07 cumulative GPA and is on the student council.

In his remaining time, he’s also a cook at Marco’s Pizza for 10 to 12 hours per week.

Britton Deerfield is off to its best start in more than a decade after beating NorthPointe Christian 38-12 on Friday in Grand Rapids.

The Patriots (3-0) led 8-6 before Nico Johnson scored three touchdowns in the final 10 minutes of the first half to give BD a 30-6 lead at the break.

Tecumseh Little League advances to state 8-9-10 in quarterfinals

The playoff run for the Tecumseh American Little League team came to an end Monday afternoon in the 8-9-10-year-old state tournament in Norway, Mich.

Tecumseh lost to Norway 16-7 in the quarterfinal round after going undefeated in pool play.

A pair of teams ran in conference finals last week. Clinton ran at the Lenawee County Athletic Association finals at Onsted High School and Britton Deerfield hosted the Tri-County Conference finals.
