Clinton’s Aldridge wins girls wrestling district title

Clinton senior Raven Aldridge won a girls wrestling district title Sunday at Dundee.

The 170-pounder won her title match via forfeit. She pinned St. Mary Catholic Central’s Bella Grippi in 1 minute, 52 seconds in the semifinals.

Four Clinton wrestlers win individual district titles

Clinton had four wrestlers win Division 4 individual district titles Saturday at Manchester.

Senior Braylon Long won his fourth district championship of his career. Juniors Bryce Randolph, Clifford Jones and senior Hamza Rafferty won their second district titles of their careers.

Tecumseh’s Pinter wins Lenawee County girls bowling title

Tecumseh’s Kierra Pinter clobbered her competition en route to becoming the Lenawee County girls bowling champion Saturday at Rich Lanes in Blissfield.

The senior was a county semifinalist last year and she said she was confident heading into Saturday.

Tecumseh’s DeFer advances to wrestling regionals

Tecumseh sophomore Michael DeFer is heading to individual regionals for the first time after finishing third in his Division 2 district Saturday at Fowlerville.

The sixth-seeded DeFer went 4-1 in districts, winning all four of his matches via pins.

Adrian jumped ahead of Tecumseh early in the second quarter and led the rest of the way in a 74-55 road win Friday.

Tecumseh’s lead kept growing. 

The scores were 10-0, 18-0, 39-4 before THS wrapped up a 71-21 home win against Adrian on Friday, sweeping the season series against its rival.

Tecumseh’s Strieter-Byron to continue running career at Adrian College

Owen Strieter-Byron could not gain traction in his final high school cross country season.

After enduring mononucleosis from early July to mid-August, the Tecumseh senior said he never reached full health in the fall season and fainted after multiple races.

But he never quit.

Tecumseh cheerleaders finding confidence under new coaches

It was inevitable that there would be an intense atmosphere in Tecumseh’s gym Thursday as cheerleaders were present.

But they weren’t enlivening the crowd while a game took place. They were the show and Tecumseh had the best display of skill and athleticism in the meet.

Remember when Dempsey Barrett pinned someone in his third dual as a starter in the 2025 team district tournament?

That might be something people will be asking years down the line if the freshman achieves great success.
