Clinton going through growing pains to start season

Players begin the process of acclimation and coaches start to figure out how to maximize their team’s potential at the beginning of a season.

Clinton is at that stage and has much runway before everyone sees the finished product.

Tecumseh did not have a lack of proven scorers entering this season. 

The team already had Chesney Wilke, Shaylinn Drouillard and Kylie Trevino. But the list has become longer.

Tecumseh immediately seized what was evasive last season.

The team defeated Ann Arbor Huron 7-4 in its season-opener Tuesday, securing its first win since May 2021.

Tecumseh expects a return to champion status this season with an experienced roster and Bogar Trout in his second season as head coach.

The squad started slow last season, but found some success in the latter half and Trout said the momentum has carried into the start of this year.

Tecumseh had the top girls track and field team in Friday’s Fowlerville Early Season Open.

The girls squad won 10 events and finished with 163.5 points— 20 ahead of second-place Olivet.

Clinton, BD athletes win events in Redwolves track and field invite

Clinton and Britton Deerfield athletes won events at the Redwolves Invite on Thursday at Clinton High School.

Clinton finished third in the boys team standings with 69 points and led by Mason Brodie.

Tecumseh aims to continue climb after last year’s turnaround

They’re back.

Tecumseh’s Tyffani Bryan enters her second season as head coach and her team returns seven starters, including all three SEC White first-teamers from 2022.

It is a sign that the team could continue climbing after going from 14-23 in 2021 to 23-13 last season.

Clinton looks to rebound after ‘devastating’ end to last season

Clinton had only one senior starter last season, but still went 24-7 and finished second in the LCAA with a 12-2 conference record.

It was not so different than previous years until a 2-1 loss to Blissfield that concluded Clinton’s streak of 15 consecutive district titles.

BD softball to rely on strong defense this year

Britton Deerfield will be reliant on its defense this season, as its inexperienced pitchers try to find momentum.

Seniors Madison Stetler, Madelena Arriaga and Bailee Shankleton will be among the most important BD players in stopping the opposition from scoring.
