The Neighbors of Hope (NOH) Women’s and Children’s Ministry Center located at 502 E. Pottawatamie St. officially opened with a ribbon cutting August 13, and in just three months the transitional housing program has been actively changing the lives of the women and children residing there.

The new Women and Children’s Ministry Center created at the former Herrick Manor nursing home by Neighbors of Hope (NOH) will hold an open house with tours of the facility Saturday, Aug. 10 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

A unanimous decision by Tecumseh City Council on January 15 approved a zoning request by Neighbors of Hope (NOH), a faith-based, Christ-centered nonprofit organization, opening the door for plans for a women’s and children’s homeless shelter at the former Herrick Manor owned by ProMedica.

A proposal to open a homeless shelter for women and children in the closed Herrick Manor facility at 500 E. Pottawatamie St. took a step forward Tuesday night with a recommendation from the Tecumseh Planning Commission to City Council.
