Area food banks are seeing the strain that higher costs at the grocery store as well as job losses and other troubles have had on residents who are just trying to feed themselves and their families.

Tecumseh Service Club makes the holidays special for local families

Every year Tecumseh Service Club brings the community together at Christmas, connecting those who need help with those who can give help. This year 122 families with over 300 children will have a happier holiday thanks to businesses and community members providing food and presents.

City residents, businesses join to help Flint water crisis

The City of Tecumseh effectively collected 10 pallets of water to help combat the Flint water crisis. Among these pallets were 800 gallon containers and 6,336 bottles of water.

City receives over $18,000 in grants, donations for TCA

At the February 1 Tecumseh City Council meeting, a total of $18,349 was received for the Tecumseh Center for the Arts (TCA) through various gifts from three organizations.

City sponsoring drive to collect cases of bottled water to aid Flint

The City of Tecumseh is collecting bottled water donations from January 29 through February 8 to aid Flint residents. Cases of bottled water can be dropped off at the Tecumseh Fire Department at 101 E. Russell Road from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Tecumseh Youth Theatre seeks support

Donations helped the Tecumseh Youth Theatre (TYT) get back on its feet in 2013, however, support is still being sought to keep the organization alive.

Bell ringers help collect donations for Salvation Army of Lenawee County

Each Christmas season, the Salvation Army posts bell ringers at the entrances of busy stores, hoping shoppers will drop spare change into a small red kettle.
