A proposal for a gravel pit off South Occidental Highway near Gady Road was tabled by the Raisin Township Planning Commission Tuesday night after commissioners determined the applicant, Philip DeLuca of Lucky Strike Sand and Gravel, LLC needed to fill in some blanks on the site plan.

A 27-year-old Raisin Township woman, Nicole Marie Allison, lost her life outside her home on Monday, July 4, after an apparent domestic dispute with her husband who was found standing near her body holding a firearm when police arrived. A motorist flagged down police near the scene.

The Raisin Charter Township Board of Trustees has designated approximately 16.5 acres of land at the geographical center of the township as Raisin River Park, with plans to develop the property into a wilderness park with trails.
