NextEra Energy’s proposal for a solar development in the southeast section of the township will be on the Raisin Township Planning Commission’s agenda July 9. Since NextEra is seeking a conditional use permit, the planning commission is the sole approving authority.

A proposal for a gravel pit off S. Occidental Highway near Gady Road got the proverbial boot from the Raisin Township Planning Commission last Tuesday night after commissioners determined the applicant, Philip DeLuca of Lucky Strike Sand and Gravel, L.L.C.

While the Raisin Township Planning Commission will review site plans for a proposed Dollar General grocery store and a condominium development at its February 13 meeting, the Lucky Strike Gravel Pit proposal won’t be in front of planners before March.

The Tecumseh Planning Commission gave the green light to plans for a Dollar General store on a vacant lot at 511 N. Evans St. in a 5-1 decision following a public hearing Tuesday night at City Hall.

The Tecumseh Planning Commission tabled action on a recommendation to city council at Tuesday’s meeting regarding the Medical Marijuana Facilities Licensing Act. Several commission members said they needed more information from experts and legal counsel before reaching a decision.
