The City of Tecumseh’s parks and recreation advisory board met April 6 to discuss a recent public survey on prohibiting smoking in city parks, as well as to consider creating mountain biking trails at Beardsley Park and culling trees in the parks.

According to Tecumseh Police Department Dispatcher Monica Andrews, shortly before 9 a.m. on Thursday March 30, a man walking in the area of South Ottawa Street and Cummins Street notified the department of flames and smoke coming from a vacant building at 317 S. Ottawa St.

Sushant Saini just turned 17, but the Tecumseh High School exchange student from New Delhi, the capital city of India, has already traveled more than most people his age. Saini came to the United States last summer on a 17-hour flight from home.

Tecumseh attorney Charles Gross is an advocate for parks, pathways and waterways in Lenawee County and would like to see more public water access in Tecumseh. Toward that goal, Gross worked to facilitate a plan for the city to purchase a .43-acre property at 607 N. Evans St.
