Mike Prochaska grew up farming, with parents who had fields of corn and soybeans. He planned to go to college after graduating from Britton Deerfield High School in 2004, and to help pay for tuition, he started growing plants from seed that year, to sell during the growing season.

Construction has begun on a solar farm on farmland off Bent Oak Highway in Adrian Township, which will eventually hold 71,928 solar panels that are estimated to power 4,000 homes with renewable energy.
