Seven consecutive Southeastern Conference (SEC) White Division titles have been awarded to Tecumseh's varsity wrestling team with the Indians winning the championship at home this year.
The Indians hosted the event on Saturday, Feb. 9, and scored a total of 273 points to win the White Division title while Bedford's Kicking Mules scored 338 points to earn the SEC Red Division crown. Adrian placed fourth overall at the event and finished second overall in the White Division.
Clinton’s quest for a Tri-County Conference championship ended successfully with a 58-38 win at Sand Creek on Friday, Feb. 15, and the Redskins continued on into the post-season with a 63-53 victory at home against Manchester in the opening round of Class C District play on Monday.

Taking the Division 2 District wrestling title has become extremely hard for opposing teams that face Tecumseh's varsity wrestlers with the Indians defending their crown by winning 24-of-28 bouts to pick up their sixth consecutive title on Wednesday, Feb. 13.
The Indians defeated Ypsilanti 67-7 in the semi-finals and then dispatched the hosting Milan Big Reds 64-9 in the finals.

Tecumseh City Council members passed a resolution on Monday night that gives the city another step toward a grant with the Economic Development Administration (EDA) to conduct infrastructure work on the new Business and Technology park. Tecumseh has applied for funds to assist with the estimated $2.5 million project and has been asked to commit funds in the amount of $1,102,500 to secure the match in funding from EDA for infrastructure development for the park.
A seasoned City of Tecumseh employee is scheduled to take the helm of the Utilities Department beginning May 9. Todd Amstutz, who has been with the department since July of 1988, has accepted the position and was confirmed by Tecumseh City Council members on Monday night. The starting annual wage for the position will be $61,500 and is an “at will” position. Following Monday night’s approval, Amstutz will now serve in a training capacity with current superintendent, Mike Bearinger, who is retiring.

The Firbromyalgia and arthritis support group will meet Monday, Feb. 25 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. This month’s topic will be on chronic pain and the aging process, part one.

AN ALL-YOU-CARE-TO-EAT soup and rolls will be held Saturday, Feb. 23 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Grace United Methodist Church, 9250 Monroe Rd., Britton. Drinks and dessert will also be furnished.
Tickets are $5 for adults and children ages 12 and up and $2 for children under 12. A bake sale will also be held to benefit church ministries and music will be provided in the sanctuary by the 151st., a local Christian music group.
CELEBRATE RECOVERY, a Christ-centered recovery program, will be held every Friday night at 7 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 211 W. Chicago Blvd., Tecumseh. The program is free and open to the public.
TeamKIDS will be held at the Tecumseh Missionary Baptist Church, 407 S. Occidental Hwy., Tecumseh every Friday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. for preschool through sixth graders.

Roland Eugene Boyers, 85, of Tecumseh died at Herrick Medical Center in Tecumseh Tuesday, February 19, 2008 with his loving family at his bedside. He was born January 29, 1923 in Wauseon, Ohio, the son of Glen and Anna Viola (Fouty) Boyers. He was married to Patricia Maye on November 30, 1946 and she preceded him in death on December 12, 1998.
Josephine Jacobs, 88, of Jackson, died Feb. 10, 2008, at Foote Hospital. Cremation has taken place. Arrangrments by J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian.
Tina Marie Jennings, 32, of Grover Hill, OH, died Feb. 17, 2008. Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at God's House of Prayer at Lowmansville, KY.Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Staffordsville, KY, under the direction of Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville, KY. Local arrangements were entrusted to J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, MI.
Edith Marie “Edie” Boyle, 89, of Tecumseh died Thursday, February 14, 2008 at Cambrian Assisted Living in Tecumseh. She was born May 6, 1918 in Detroit, the daughter of Bruno Charles and Emma Marie (Hohl) Kullen. She was married to Kenneth F. Boyle on April 19, 1941 and he preceded her in death on September 5, 1970.
John E. Clegg, 65, of Adrian, passed away Monday, February 18, 2008, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 3, 1942, in Adrian, to Robert and Lillian (Osenko) Clegg. On August 19, 1972, he married Connie Jarosemich in Monroe, and she survives. John served in the US Navy from 1961 to 1965. He was a member of the Adrian Moose Lodge where he served as governor, and also a member of the Adrian Eagles.
Leo Joseph Dubuc, 83, of Adrian passed away February 14. Born July 26, 1924, in Detroit, MI. of French speaking parents. This was his first language but you wouldn’t have known it. He graduated from Mackenzie High School and married Gloria Jean Quesnell in 1946. She preceded him in death in 1985. He then married Bonnie Richard on June 9, 1990, in Manitou Beach, she survives.
Carolyn Hayes, 64, of Tecumseh, passed away February 16, 2008. Carolyn was born May 23, 1943 in Murphy, North Carolina, the daughter of Robert and Pauline (Pickelsimer) Mason. On December 29, 1962, she married David Hayes in Allen Park, Michigan. He survives.
Carolyn was an avid gardener and a lover of animals.
Roger Carl Williams, 78, of Raisin Township died suddenly on Friday, February15, 2008 at home. He was born April 10, 1929 in Tipton, the son of Carl W. and Bernice (Ruesink) Williams. On April 10, 1953 he was married to Charlene Joseph and she survives.
