The Tecumseh Center for the Arts (TCA) will bring three Michigan acts to its stage this summer with the recently rebranded TCA Summer Series scheduled for the fourth Saturday of June, July, and August at 7 p.m.

A retired Tecumseh teacher, counselor, past Tecumseh Education Association president and coach was appointed on Monday, June 11 to fill the vacancy on the Tecumseh Board of Education. Lori Spotts took the position left open by Dr. Edward Tritt after he resigned at the May board meeting.

An effort to recall four of seven members of the Britton Deerfield (BD) School Board began after community members, unhappy with board actions, took steps to remove members who are not up for reelection in November, according to Stacy Johnson, school superintendent.

The long-awaited opening of Oak Openings, the Clinton Arts Center’s (CAC) new home at 115 W. Michigan Ave. in downtown Clinton, will be celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house that will include village officials, artists staff and the public on Friday, June 1 from 4-9 p.m.

The Tecumseh Board of Education learned how the long winter and loss of 39 students may affect this year’s budget and was presented the preliminary financial plan for fiscal year 2018-19 during the study session Monday, May 14 before the regular board meeting.
