Floats, bands and entertainers will walk down Chicago Boulevard for Tecumseh’s annual Christmas parade, scheduled this year on Friday, Dec. 4 starting at 7 p.m.

Approximately 120 students staged a sit-in protest at Tecumseh High School (THS) on Tuesday, Nov. 24 to protest the termination of coaches Eddy Foley and Scott Norkey. Students said they were not given a reason as to why either coach was let go.

Lenawee County was hit by its first major snowstorm of the season on Saturday, Nov. 21, with a total of five inches of snowfall accumulating in Tecumseh.

Tecumseh City Council approved the 2016 employee health insurance cost sharing plan with the Police Officers Labor Council and the Operating Engineer Unions Monday. The plan also applies to all non-union city employees eligible to receive health insurance.

As the holidays approach, Tecumseh Service Club is once again working hard to give a helping hand to families in need. Families are adopted by community organizations and individuals to provide food and gifts for those struggling to get by on a daily basis.

For fifth graders at Tecumseh Middle School (TMS), learning is more than just sitting at a desk reading a textbook. Students in Stacy Whelan and DeAnne Russell’s classrooms have found the connection between history and science right outside the windows of their classrooms.

The merchants of downtown Tecumseh host the annual Holiday Open House on Friday and Saturday. Holiday shopping hours with the 27 downtown merchants will be Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Tecumseh School Board voted to call for election on March 8, 2016, to renew the 0.25 millage for the indoor pool located at Tecumseh Middle School.
The board passed the call for election unanimously at Monday’s meeting with members Steven Linn and Greg Johnson absent.
