‘Welcome to Tecumseh’ merchandise to raise funds

The “Welcome to Tecumseh” mural at the west side entrance to Tecumseh’s downtown is almost complete, and now those who love the design can have it for their own when they purchase a t-shirt, coffee mug, tumbler, or tote bag bearing the colorful graphic.

Council adopts budget, hikes water rates

Tecumseh’s millage rate —the factor by which property taxes are determined for taxpayers —won’t be going up in the next fiscal year, but water and sewer bills will reflect a 3.9 percent increase starting July 1.

Tecumseh’s Farmers Market will open for the season Saturday, May 4, with a special Star Wars theme based on the saying, “May the fourth be with you” that mimics the popular futuristic science fiction film’s line, “May the force be with you.”

The mural slated for the west side entrance of downtown Tecumseh has been steadily taking shape as artist Alexa Daluz and her helpers have been working to transform the brick wall at 138 W. Chicago Blvd., the home of Clarkson Eye Care.

Commission rejects gravel pit proposal in Raisin Twp.

A proposal for a gravel pit off S. Occidental Highway near Gady Road got the proverbial boot from the Raisin Township Planning Commission last Tuesday night after commissioners determined the applicant, Philip DeLuca of Lucky Strike Sand and Gravel, L.L.C.

Utilities project with Johnson Controls ok’d by council in 4-3 voter

The first steps in improvements to the city’s water system and waste water treatment plant were taken at Monday night’s city council meeting when councilmembers voted 4-3 to approve an agreement with Johnson Controls, Inc. (JCI) to assist in the process.
